Beach Day
I painted this on a beautiful Marbella morning. Marbella is a village on the Mediterranean Sea in the South of Spain where I lived for a good part of my life. The sea in the morning is the most beautiful blue and the sand is soft and warm. There are beach "kiosks" where you can buy a beer or a cocktail and lounge in the sun. Here, their umbrellas were blue and the roof was made of grass. It was painted with a palette knife so as to capture the full array of colors that peaceful beautiful morning with just a hint of salt in the air.
